Get involved on campus
The following are clubs and organizations found on our Rindge Campus that focus on diversity and inclusion.
African, Latinx, Asian, Native American and Allies Association (A.L.A.NA)
A.L.A.NA (African, Latinx, Asian, Native American and Allies Association) is a student diversity initiative first established by Phebe Robinson ’05 in 2007. Since then, A.L.A.NA has changed its purpose based on the needs of the campus community. Today, A.L.A.NA is a student organization within the Diversity & Inclusion Office focused on creating community among students of color and their allies. Through A.L.A.NA, students can suggest programming needs which the Office of Diversity & Inclusion will support. A.LA.NA builds a sense of belongingness and provides resources for students of color on campus.
Any registered student who is interested can join and be a part of this amazing group. For more information, send an email to diversity@sxwx168.net or stop by the Diversity & Inclusion Office in the Emily Flint Campus Center.
Gender and Sexuality Acceptance Club (GSA)
GSA (Gender and Sexuality Acceptance) is a club dedicated to being a safe space for queer and non-queer allies alike. The mission of GSA is to establish a safe, welcoming, and supportive environment where members and visitors can openly discuss their experiences as well as learn about the experiences of others in the LGBTQIA+ community, while under the confidentiality of Article XI. GSA also aims to promote an environment free of prejudice or fear and protect students from any institutional abuse based on their identity or affiliation with LGBTQIA+. For more information, send an email to GSAclub@sxwx168.net.
SISTUHS
SISTUHS is a group on campus whose goal is to promote and empower women. We discuss and address issues faced by female-identifying students on campus and hold events to foster learning and awareness for these issues. We are currently working on initiatives and events focusing on fighting period poverty and raising awareness about domestic violence. We meet on Mondays at 6 pm in the multicultural space in the campus center.
For more information, send an email to sistuhs@sxwx168.net.
